Why You Care So Deeply: A Spiritual Perspective Through Human Design

Do you believe that we are headed toward a massive shift as a society where what we know as society needs to crumble/fall/be demolished, but still want to fight for what you believe is right?
There's a reason for that.
What Does It Mean to Be Spiritual?
Let’s start with the definition of being spiritual. According to Oxford, the definition of spiritual is “connected with the human spirit, rather than the body or physical things.”
Many believe that being spiritual means that you believe in something beyond your physical self and what you can see — a belief in God, Spirit, Source, Universe, Goddess, etc.
At this time, many spiritual people feel that there is something going on where things are changing in our world. Some subscribe to the idea of the Age of Aquarius, some the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix, and others just feel that we are entering an era of change.
People Are Responding to Change in Different Ways
There are going to be people who:
Cling to the past
Are ready for the next phase
Are just along for the ride, trying to spread love
Feel change is needed — but disagree with how it's happening
If you, like me, are in that last group, I’ve been struggling with how to handle these changes and why I feel the way I do.
I know that things have to change, but don’t like the way things are going down. I understand that our society as we know it is ending and that it hasn’t really been working for us as a whole.
Our Systems Are Crumbling
Our social safety nets have become tangled with corruption and greed. A tangled net will still catch some things, but it will not work as effectively as it was designed to do.
Our education system, which was set up to provide everyone with a basic education, and then a more advanced education should they want to pursue it, has been warped by companies trying to have people work their life away only to die before they really are able to enjoy it.
Some have found ways to do both, but many have not. They get up every day and go to a job they may or may not like just to pay bills for things they need — like food, clothing, etc. — as well as things they think they need or simply want, like fancier cars and electronics.
Some are spending decades paying off education debt that they accrued to get a better paying job. Many are barely making ends meet because companies are not willing to pay their employees a livable wage.
Not all companies are bad and not everyone is struggling, but there are more than there should be.
Even Education Has Been Distorted
Education, even at the elementary level, has been warped by testing that was put together by individuals trying to make money who thought, “If we tell them that our education system is bad based on testing, and then sell them testing materials and testing strategies, then we can make a ton of money.”
Now all students seem to do is test.
As a former educator, I can tell you that there is legit something called Testing Season, where nothing else is happening. Maybe some celebrations to break up the monotony of endless testing.
The Tower Has to Fall
I feel that these social safety nets started off meaning well, and that some people have done their best to shape them back for the good or toward their original intention.
But at this point, it’s like fixing a castle with duct tape, glue, and popsicle sticks. It might work to patch holes, but the structure is no longer stable.
It’s time for the tower to fall so that we can rebuild it the right way.
Jenga Politics
Much of what we are going through as Americans is part of that tower crumbling. It’s hard because I know it has to happen, but I don’t like how it is happening.
I’m not writing this to get into a political debate, but I do have to go a little political.
The guy we have running things is breaking down the tower — but in a horrible way, not caring who gets hurt by the falling pieces.
I love an analogy that my older son came up with last night. He said, “It’s like he’s playing Jenga, taking lower parts of the tower and placing them toward the top but doing so in a way that is completely inefficient and makes no sense. He’s even taking some and placing them vertically instead of horizontally and not caring who gets hurt if they fall.”
Why Doesn’t Everyone Feel This?
I exasperatedly asked my husband one night, “Why doesn’t this bother you as much as it does me?”
I know there are plenty out there who feel the same, while others are okay with letting things happen as they are for one reason or another.
I was deeply troubled as to the why of it.
Looking to My Human Design
If you’ve been reading my posts for a while, then you know I am a certified Quantum Human Design (QHD) Specialist™ and Family Coach. I continue to study it and apply it to life and parenting.
I decided to look to my chart for possible reasons as to why I am the way I am. Is it part of my design or some conditioning?
My Incarnation Cross: Left Angle Cross of Defiance
Part of our design is our incarnation cross. QHD says:
“An Incarnation Cross in Human Design is a concept that represents a person’s life purpose or overarching theme.”
It is made up of your conscious and unconscious Sun as well as your conscious and unconscious Earth.
My incarnation cross is the Left Angle Cross of Defiance, which, according to a quick report from bodygraphchart.com, means:
“You came into this world to defy tradition and any form of interference, conditioning, or influence that obstructs your self-expression. You refuse to be controlled and disregard imposed rules. Instead, you live your uniqueness and individuality. Your expression seeks to be heard and to unfold freely.”
I am basically here to defy the norm.
What My Gates Reveal
I occasionally use ChatGPT to help me understand things better. I fed it my chart info and this is what it said:
“When politics becomes performative, corrupt, or disconnected from people’s actual needs, your very existence feels the pressure to reject it — not because you’re ‘anti-society,’ but because you see the potential for better and feel compelled to fight for it.”
I also have Gates 58, 50, and 49. These are considered Revolutionary Corrective Energy:
Gate 58 (Joy of Correction) gives you a relentless drive to improve things — you literally feel alive when fixing what's broken.
Gate 50 (Values, Responsibility) connects to justice, care, and integrity. You sense when collective values are off.
Gate 49 (Principles & Revolution) is about transforming systems that no longer serve emotional or material needs.
Together, these gates give you ethical intensity — you're not upset because you don’t care, you’re upset because you care deeply and can see what’s not working.
I’m Wired to Fight for What Matters
I am also a 5/1 Profile with the motivation of guilt.
My profile means I am to be called upon to help and to offer practical solutions. The motivation gives me a natural drive to fix what’s broken — to help, to improve, to restore order.
I’m not meant to sit idly when something feels wrong.
Add to this that I have the Channel of Struggle (28–38), which says I am wired for fighting meaningful battles:
“Your design requires struggle — not for the sake of conflict, but because you’re built to wrestle with what’s worth living for.”
I don’t know how we go from now to whatever is next, but I do know that I am NOT going to sit here quietly and watch our freedoms be taken away.
If any part of this article resonates with you — if you've ever felt overwhelmed by the crumbling systems, yet deeply driven to stand up for something better — it’s not a flaw, and you’re not alone. There’s a reason you feel the way you do, and it might just be written in your energetic blueprint. Human Design helped me understand why I care so much, why I can’t look away, and why I’m here to defy the status quo. If you're ready to make sense of your inner fire and reclaim your power with clarity and compassion, I invite you to explore your own chart. Visit my website to get your FREE Human Design chart, or dive deeper with one of my expanded reports located at the bottom of your chart. The answers you’ve been seeking might not be outside you — they might be within you, waiting to be remembered. Also, if you are interested in understanding your children better and learning to connect with them, I am looking to work with people for free for a period of time to help more people.
